On the March
The cavalry column on the march is a truly classic image and is TEDTOY's entry into
portraying the mounted service. At the head of the column ride an officer and scout.
They are followed by a bugler and guidonbearer while sets of troopers
comprise the core of the column. There are variations in the troopers and different
horses in the sets making each set unique and the column quite varied. Union cavalry are
in short jackets and kepis and are equipped with carbines, pistols and sabers.
Confederates wear short jackets and slouch hats and are similarly equipped. The
guidon bearer has either the smaller cavalry version of the Confederate battleflag or the
the typical Federal swallowtail guidon. The bugler is garbed in a musician's shell
jacket with the yellow braided front and carries his bugle with yellow knotted cord in his
right hand. Sets are comprised of 2 troopers, guidon bearer and bugler, or officer
and scout.
